Departures (from the norm)

SeaTac airport.  Just before 8 a.m. after an all-night pre-departure push at work, trying to leave projects with sufficient momentum to glide through a week.  Cross-eyed with fatigue and cursing the fact I’m not drinking coffee given my heart has been acting up a little.  Thinking of Aviva, en route to the Calgary airport.  We’ll connect in Denver, me a couple hours ahead.  It will be the first, and likely the last, time I have been in the lead during the lead-up to this race.  She’s been out front the whole time.
